Environmental Scientist
Ms. Watts joined PennJersey Environmental in the spring of 2022. Her main functions include fieldwork, mapping, data review, report writing, and collaboration on potential solar site locations.
Watts’ field experience began in earnest during her graduate studies at New York Institute of Technology, as she assisted with a year-long research project to investigate advanced techniques to eliminate Perfluorooctanoic Acid (PFOA) in water, an initiative funded by the Mayor of New York City. She completed extensive research on degradation techniques of PFOA, through a combination of UV Filtration, Ultrasonic technology, and filtration through oxidation.
Prior to joining PennJersey, Watts worked as an Operations Manager and Manager of Administration and Contracts within the construction industry.
Watts holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental and Natural Resources Management from The University of The West Indies and a Master of Science in Environmental Technology and Sustainability from the New York Institute of Technology. She is a member of The Association of Energy Engineers and an Ambassador for Greenpeace USA and also holds the OSHA HAZWOPER 40-Hour certification.
Watts resides in Allentown, PA with her 2 children and enjoys spending time with family, hiking, camping, and experimental cooking.
